China’s Covid outbreak won’t ‘significantly impact’ Europe: WHO

The World Health Organization does not anticipate a “significantly impact” on Europe from the covid population explosion in China.

On Tuesday, the WHO said that it did not anticipate the recent increase of Covid-19 cases in China to have any “major influence” on the situation in Europe.

At a news briefing, Hans Kluge, the director of WHO’s European Region, said, “The continued rise in China is not predicted to substantially alter the Covid-19 epidemiological situation in the WHO European Region at this moment.”

Kluge said that cautious travel bans “should be based on evidence, be proportional, and not discriminate.”
