Gaza Aid Group Closes After Six Months of Turmoil and Civilian Deaths
The US and Israel-backed Gaza Humanitarian Foundation (GHF) is winding down operations after being active for six months. The group faced intense criticism from the UN and aid agencies for contravening humanitarian principles and operating in Israeli military zones, where the UN recorded the deaths of 859 Palestinians seeking aid, mostly by Israeli fire. The GHF denies responsibility and accuses Hamas of using “false statistics.”
