Darwin, 15 September – Unless regional countries like Saudi Arabia, Turkey, and Iraq form a joint military alliance, they may face the risk of Israeli aggression, warned a former commander of Iran’s Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC), Mohsen Rezaei.

According to Press TV, Rezaei issued this warning in a post on social media platform X (formerly Twitter), ahead of the Islamic-Arab Summit scheduled to be held in Doha, Qatar, on Sunday.

Rezaei stated,

“If the summit fails to take practical action in response to the genocide in Gaza and the Zionist regime’s aggression against five Muslim nations, then Saudi Arabia, Turkey, and Iraq must prepare for airstrikes and bombings.”

He further noted that Israel has already launched attacks on Lebanon, Syria, Yemen, Iran, and most recently Qatar.

“Before Israel takes individual action against each of these countries, a military alliance must be formed to confront it,” he added.

Rezaei’s warning comes at a time when the Israeli newspaper Haaretz published an op-ed expressing concern that after targeting Hamas leadership in Qatar via airstrikes, Tel Aviv might open a new front against Turkey.

However, the newspaper called such a move “disastrous,” quoting analysts who argued that direct confrontation with Ankara would be far more dangerous than the strike in Doha.

In a related development, The Times of Israel reported that Israel had previously considered launching a similar operation inside Turkey, but due to “NATO-related concerns,” it suspended that plan and chose Qatar as an alternative target.

Additionally, on Saturday, Iran’s top security official Ali Larijani echoed Rezaei’s warning, calling on Muslim nations to establish a joint operations headquarters to stop what he described as Israel’s “madness.”
