Trump at UN Recognizing Palestine Means Rewarding Hamas

Darwin, September 24 — U.S. President Donald Trump, involved in efforts to establish a ceasefire in Gaza, stated on Tuesday that the parties engaged in the talks should end the conflict immediately. His comments were made during a speech at the United Nations General Assembly.

According to BBC, Trump recently raised the issue of recognizing a Palestinian state with several powerful nations. He said, “This would be a reward for Hamas’s brutality.” Trump argued that in order to seek peace, everyone should send a unified message: hostages must be freed, without giving in to Hamas’s demands for ransom.

His statement received applause in the chamber.

Trump’s Warning on Iran’s Nuclear Program

Trump also highlighted the threat posed by destructive weapons to humanity. He labeled Iran as “the world’s leading state sponsor of terrorism” and emphasized that the country must not be allowed to acquire nuclear weapons.

During his address at the UN General Assembly, Iranian diplomats remained silent as Trump made his remarks. He went on to reveal that earlier this year, he had ordered a bombing strike on a key Iranian nuclear facility, stating, “We did something that everyone had wanted to do for 22 years.”

“Your Countries Are on the Path to Destruction”

Addressing the General Assembly members, Trump stated that it was time to end the “failed experiment of open borders.” He asserted, “Your countries are on the path to destruction.”

Trump also pointed out the high proportion of foreign nationals in European prisons, stating that nearly 50% of prisoners in German jails are foreigners, with similar figures in Austria (53%), Greece (54%), and “beautiful Switzerland” (72%). He claimed that Europe was facing a severe crisis due to the influx of illegal immigrants, and governments were doing nothing to address it because of political correctness.

Trump criticized London Mayor Sadiq Khan, calling him “a terrible mayor” and accusing him of wanting Sharia law in the city. Trump said, “You’re in another country, and you can’t do that here.” However, it is unclear on what basis Trump made these claims, as Khan has never announced any plans to implement Sharia law in London.

Trump warned that Western Europe would face destruction if immigration and self-destructive energy policies continued.

“Climate Change is the World’s Greatest Hoax”

Trump also claimed that climate change was not a legitimate concern, describing it as “the greatest hoax in history.” He argued, “No more global warming, no more global cooling.” He pointed out that in the 1920s and ’30s, people were worried about global cooling, and that all the predictions made by the UN and others had been proven wrong, calling them ideas from “foolish people.”

He urged world leaders to reject the “fraud” of green policies, warning that countries would fail if they did not. Trump added, “I’m really good at predicting the future.”

Reactions to Trump’s Remarks

A spokesperson for London’s mayor’s office responded to Trump’s accusations, stating, “We will not respond to his horrific and hateful comments. London is the greatest city in the world, and safer than many major U.S. cities. We are pleased that record numbers of U.S. citizens are choosing to live here.”

British Health Secretary Wes Streeting also rejected Trump’s remarks, stating that Mayor Sadiq Khan was in no way attempting to impose Sharia law in the capital. On social media platform X, Streeting wrote, “This mayor marches at Pride, stands up for diversity and freedom of expression, and works to improve our transport, air, roads, safety, and opportunities. We are proud of him as our mayor.”
