Rama Duwaji, the stunning wife of politician Zohran Mamdani, has become a trending name in New York’s political and social circles—almost as talked-about as her husband himself.
According to The Times, Rama is not just known as the wife of the newly elected leader but also for her own vibrant identity and creative career. The 28-year-old Syrian-born artist was raised in Houston, Texas. When she was nine, her family moved to Dubai. Later, she began her career in New York as an illustrator and animator, collaborating with several renowned art institutions.
The couple reportedly met through a dating app, and they tied the knot earlier this year. On election day, acclaimed filmmaker and Mamdani’s mother, Mira Nair, shared a heartfelt message to her daughter-in-law on social media, writing: “Darling daughter-in-law, in this new dawn, art will bloom across our city,” followed by a heart emoji.
With Mamdani’s victory, Rama Duwaji is set to become New York City’s first Gen Z First Lady. However, she has yet to confirm whether she will officially take on that ceremonial role.
