Trump Declares United States Will Manage Venezuela Transition

WASHINGTON D.C. — President Donald Trump has stunned global leaders by announcing that the United States will take direct responsibility for “running” Venezuela following the dramatic capture of Nicolás Maduro. Speaking from Mar-a-Lago on Saturday, the President clarified that this administrative oversight is intended to remain in place until a “safe, proper, and judicious transition” can be secured. Trump emphasized that the goal is to prevent the country from falling into the hands of a leader who does not have the best interests of the Venezuelan people at heart.

The President described the transition as a “group effort” involving high-ranking members of his cabinet. He specifically pointed to Secretary of State Marco Rubio, Defense Secretary Pete Hegseth, and Joint Chiefs Chairman Gen. Dan Caine as the de facto team that will oversee the nation’s stabilization. Although the U.S. military does not currently have full territorial control, Trump signaled that the “American armada” remains poised and that he is not afraid of “boots on the ground” to ensure the transition proceeds according to American terms.

A surprising element of the new strategy involves the current Venezuelan Vice-President, Delcy Rodríguez. Trump revealed that Secretary Rubio has already established a line of communication with Rodríguez, who was recently named interim president by Venezuela’s Supreme Court.

According to the President, Rodríguez has expressed a willingness to cooperate with U.S. demands to “make Venezuela great again,” despite her televised appearances where she continues to demand Maduro’s release. This suggests a dual-track diplomacy where the U.S. maintains the existing administrative shell while directing the country’s strategic and economic future.
