Australia Deploys Military Equipment to Middle East

Prime Minister Anthony Albanese has announced a federal royal commission.

Darwin, 05 March:

Australian Prime Minister Anthony Albanese has announced that Australia has deployed military equipment to the Middle East as part of emergency contingency plans.

According to a report by Al Jazeera published on Thursday, Albanese told the Australian Parliament that his government has already taken precautionary measures in response to the escalating crisis in the region.

Albanese said Australia has sent six crisis response teams to the Middle East.

“We have already deployed military equipment earlier this week as part of our emergency planning,” the prime minister said while addressing parliament.

However, Albanese did not provide further details about the deployment. Australian broadcaster Special Broadcasting Service (SBS) reported that two military aircraft have been dispatched as part of the operation.

The development comes after a joint military strike on Iran launched by Israel and the United States on February 28.

Reports indicate that the attacks resulted in the death of Iran’s Supreme Leader Ali Khamenei and more than a thousand civilian casualties so far.

A strike on a girls’ school reportedly killed 165 children.

Meanwhile, Spain has refused to provide any form of assistance to the United States in the conflict and did not allow American warships to use its ports. In response, former U.S. President Donald Trump announced plans to halt trade with Spain.
The United Kingdom has also stated that it will not join the war.
