Darwin, 02 May : US President Donald Trump has stated that the United States will either destroy Iran or make a deal with them. He made this comment while speaking to reporters at the White House on Friday (May 1).
Trump mentioned that he had been briefed on the latest situation regarding the potential conflict by Admiral Adam Bradley Cooper, the head of the US Central Command.
When asked by a journalist about the possibility of a deal with Iran, Trump said, “Either we will go and explode their nuclear facility, and destroy them forever, or we will try to make a deal. Those are the two options.”
However, Trump also remarked that he does not want to bomb Iran, considering the humanitarian aspects.
The US President claimed that the leadership in Iran is divided into three to four factions, and they are unable to coordinate with each other.
“They (Iran) have made progress. But I’m not sure if they’ll be able to reach a solution through negotiations. There is a massive divide among Iranian leaders,” he said. “Their leaders have no coordination. They are split into two or three, possibly four factions. Their leadership is very disjointed, but they all want to make a deal. But they’ve messed things up among themselves.”
