Trump Urges Arab, Muslim Nations to Join Abraham Accords After Iran Deal

Darwin, 26 May : U.S. President has urged Arab and other Muslim-majority countries to sign peace agreements with Israel if a deal to end the Iran war is finalized, according to two U.S. officials familiar with the matter.

Trump made the appeal during a joint phone call on Saturday with leaders from several Arab and Muslim nations, signaling what could become his next major Middle East initiative once the Iran conflict ends.

According to officials, Trump discussed the potential Iran agreement with leaders from , , , , , , and .

Trump reportedly told the leaders that once the war with Iran ends, countries that are not yet part of the should join the agreement and normalize diplomatic relations with Israel.

The comments indicate Trump is continuing to pursue what he sees as a historic Saudi-Israel peace agreement, although current Middle East political tensions and Israel’s upcoming elections make any breakthrough unlikely in the near future.

A U.S. official said UAE President , whose country has already normalized relations with Israel, maintained a relatively hardline position regarding the Iran war and expressed support for the proposed agreement.

“They all said, ‘We are with you on this deal. And even if it does not work, we will still stand with you,’” the official said.

One official familiar with the discussions said Trump informed the leaders that he planned to call Israeli Prime Minister afterward and expressed hope that Israel’s leader could join a similar group call in the near future.

Officials said leaders from countries without formal diplomatic ties with Israel — particularly Saudi Arabia, Qatar and Pakistan — were surprised by Trump’s unexpected request. According to one U.S. official, there was a moment of silence on the call after Trump made the proposal, prompting him to jokingly ask whether they were still on the line.

Trump later said his envoys, and , would follow up on the matter in the coming weeks.

On Sunday, Trump wrote on the social media platform that he appreciated the support and cooperation of Middle Eastern countries and said such cooperation would grow stronger through expanded participation in the Abraham Accords.

Trump also floated the idea that Iran could one day join the agreement, though such a move would require Tehran to recognize Israel — something Iran has rejected for decades. Iran’s current leadership views Israel as an adversary and has long opposed recognizing the Jewish state.

Meanwhile, U.S. Senator , a prominent supporter of expanding the Abraham Accords and a critic of the proposed Iran deal, backed Trump’s appeal in a post on X.

Graham said that if Arab and Muslim allies agree to join the Abraham Accords as part of efforts to end the Iran conflict, it could transform the agreement into one of the most influential diplomatic frameworks in Middle East history.

However, prospects for a Saudi-Israel normalization deal remain uncertain. Although Saudi Crown Prince previously expressed interest in normalizing relations with Israel, his position has reportedly cooled over the past year.

Saudi officials continue to insist on a clear and time-bound commitment toward establishing a Palestinian state as a condition for normalization — a demand the Israeli government has rejected. Israeli and U.S. officials reportedly believe Riyadh is unlikely to move forward before Israel’s elections scheduled for September.
