Darwin, 03 June : At least one person has been killed and several others injured following Iran’s latest attack on Kuwait, according to Kuwaiti authorities, as tensions continue to rise amid the escalating Iran-U.S. confrontation.

The attack also reportedly damaged several diplomatic missions, while Kuwait temporarily shut down its international airport before partially resuming operations.

According to a report by AFP on Wednesday (June 3), Kuwait’s Foreign Ministry condemned the strike, accusing Iran of targeting key civilian infrastructure, including Kuwait International Airport.

“Iran has once again targeted vital civilian facilities, including Kuwait International Airport,” the ministry said in a statement, adding that one person was killed and several others injured in the attack. Authorities also reported damage to multiple foreign diplomatic missions.

Kuwait’s civil aviation authority later announced a partial reopening of the airport but said only flights operated by Kuwait Airways would be allowed to operate for the time being.

The latest developments come after Tehran claimed responsibility for strikes targeting U.S.-linked infrastructure in Kuwait and Bahrain following reported American military operations inside Iranian territory. Kuwait, however, rejected those claims, insisting the attack directly targeted civilian infrastructure.

According to Kuwaiti officials, multiple explosive-laden Iranian military drones struck Terminal 1 of Kuwait International Airport at approximately 9:30 a.m. local time (12:30 p.m. Bangladesh time) on Wednesday, causing significant damage to airport facilities.

The Kuwaiti government later confirmed one fatality, although it remains unclear whether the victim died at the airport or elsewhere during the attack.

The incident marks a serious escalation in regional tensions, with growing concerns that the conflict could spread further across the Gulf region.
