Pakistan Says ‘Final and Consensus’ U.S.-Iran Ceasefire Draft Near Completion

Darwin, 13 June : Pakistani Prime Minister has announced that a “final and consensus-based” ceasefire draft agreement has been prepared to ease ongoing tensions between the United States and Iran, raising hopes for a potential diplomatic breakthrough after years of hostility.

According to a report by , Sharif said Pakistan is now working closely with both sides to finalize the remaining steps toward a possible agreement.

In a post on X, the Pakistani prime minister wrote that “the opportunity for peace has never been closer,” signaling optimism about the prospects for de-escalation between Washington and Tehran.

The announcement came after officials from both countries urged caution regarding growing media speculation over the details of the proposed agreement. Iranian Foreign Minister also described the deal as “very close,” though specific terms have not yet been officially disclosed.

Addressing media reports, Araghchi warned against speculation about the contents of the agreement, saying assumptions regarding the negotiations should be avoided until formal details are released.

Meanwhile, U.S. Vice President dismissed claims that blocked Iranian assets would be immediately released. In a post on X, he said the agreement was designed to prioritize the concerns of the United States and its allies.

“If Iran fulfills its obligations, economic benefits will flow to them and the broader region,” Vance said, adding that the deal could reshape the region and help establish long-term peace.

Iranian Foreign Minister Araghchi’s message was later reposted by U.S. President on his social media platform, Truth Social.

Earlier, Iran’s state news agency published a report outlining seven alleged key points of the proposed agreement. The report claimed Iran would not make additional concessions on its nuclear program or control over the Strait of Hormuz, while some Iranian assets would be immediately unfrozen.

However, a U.S. official rejected those claims, stating that discussions instead include measures to halt Iran’s nuclear program, dismantle nuclear materials, and reopen the Strait of Hormuz. Trump also described the terms published by Iranian media as “fake.”

Messages emerging from Tehran are being viewed as some of the clearest indications yet that a deal may be approaching. Analysts believe a potential agreement between the United States and Iran could mark a significant step toward long-term peace and stability in the Middle East, with Pakistan playing a mediating role in the negotiations.
