Darwin, August 17: Iran’s Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) has made major changes and reforms to the country’s air defense system, drawing on lessons learned from the damage and experiences of the war, according to a senior IRGC official.
Qatar-based Al Jazeera reported that the official made the remarks in a documentary published by Iran’s Fars News Agency.
According to the IRGC official, Iran has moved away from its traditional air defense model after assessing lessons from the previous conflict. As part of the overhaul, Tehran has adopted a new “air defense structure.”
The reforms include significant changes to Iran’s command-and-control network, defense training methods and strategic procedures, the official said.
The changes are aimed at improving the effectiveness and resilience of Iran’s air defense system by incorporating lessons learned from recent wartime experiences.
The IRGC official did not provide detailed information about the specific capabilities or operational features of the new structure.
