Iran Launches Missile Strikes on US Targets Across Middle East Hours After US Attack

Darwin, September 01 :  Hours after a US attack, Iran launched missile strikes against American targets at several locations across the Middle East, according to Iranian media, Shafaq News reported on Monday.

The report said Iran launched the missiles several hours after the United States carried out an attack on Larak Island in the Strait of Hormuz.

Iranian targets reportedly included Jordan’s Muwaffaq Salti Air Base, Qatar’s Al Udeid Air Base, and US vessels in the Strait of Hormuz. However, a US official told Fox News that Iranian attacks targeted US forces stationed in Jordan. The official said all the missiles were intercepted mid-flight and that no major damage was reported.

The Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC), however, gave a different account. It said that, in retaliation for the US attack on Larak Island, its Aerospace Force and missile units launched missile and drone strikes against Jordan’s King Hussein and Al-Azraq air bases.

The IRGC claimed that its ballistic missiles struck the air bases’ technical and maintenance facilities, as well as areas where US fighter jets were stationed, causing extensive damage.

Meanwhile, US Central Command (CENTCOM) spokesman Tim Hawkins told Fox News that US forces had struck two IRGC missile launch sites while the IRGC was preparing to launch rockets toward the Strait of Hormuz and lay mines in the sea lanes.

The IRGC said several of its members and civilians were killed or wounded in the US attack on Larak Island. The organization also warned that it would retaliate against the attack.
