Missile Strikes Hit Iran’s Sirik, Explosions Heard Along Coast

Darwin, 11 September : Missiles fired by an “enemy” struck several areas of Sirik in southern Iran, the country’s state media reported. Al Jazeera reported the development on Thursday (September 10).

According to the report, multiple explosions were heard in different locations across the coastal area. Iran did not make clear who carried out the attack.

Iranian media reports said explosions were also heard in Minab County and on Qeshm Island, in addition to Sirik. However, there were no immediate detailed reports of casualties or damage from the attacks, the media outlet reported.

Meanwhile, US President Donald Trump has claimed that the ongoing war will end immediately after the US midterm elections in November. He also predicted that oil prices would decline.

Trump said Washington is not currently actively seeking a deal with Tehran, but acknowledged that there could be a possibility of negotiations with Iran.

Meanwhile, Iran’s Foreign Ministry said Tehran is ready to engage in dialogue with countries in the region to build mutual trust, ensure sustainable security and promote economic progress.

The Iranian Foreign Ministry said security in the Gulf and the Gulf of Oman should be ensured through mutual cooperation among the coastal states. Tehran also said there should be no interference by foreign powers in the process.
