Darwin, October 05: Popular Bangladeshi singer and actor Pritom Hasan and model-actress Shehtaz Monira Hashem have decided to end their marriage after a decade together, bringing an end to their 10-year relationship.

In a social media post on Sunday (October 4) night, Shehtaz announced that the couple had mutually decided to move towards divorce in an amicable and respectful manner.

“We have decided to end our married life amicably and by mutual understanding after spending 10 years together,” Shehtaz wrote in her post.

Expressing gratitude for the memories they had shared, she said they still cared for each other but had realised over time that going their separate ways would be better due to a lack of mutual understanding.

“We are grateful for the memories we have shared and still care for each other. However, over time, we have realised that, due to a lack of mutual understanding, it would be better for us to follow separate paths. After much thought and consideration, we have reached this decision. With the support of our families, we are now moving forward with the divorce process,” she added.

Shehtaz also requested friends, colleagues and members of the media to respect their privacy and show understanding during this transitional period as they navigate a new chapter in their lives.

Pritom Hasan and Shehtaz first met in 2017 while working on the music video for Pritom’s song Jadukor. Their professional association gradually developed into a romantic relationship that lasted around five years before they got married.

The couple tied the knot on October 29, 2022, at a five-star hotel in Sreemangal, surrounded by scenic tea gardens. Their wedding celebrations began with a traditional gaye holud ceremony the night before.

After years of dating and nearly four years of marriage, the couple have now decided to part ways, choosing an amicable separation as they prepare to move forward independently.
