DARWIN, October 7: Iran has warned that it will deliver a stronger response if the United States or Israel launches another attack. The country also says it has prepared potential targets for retaliatory strikes and increased its weapons production capacity by 2.5 times compared with before the war.
On Tuesday (October 6), Iranian Defense Ministry spokesman Reza Talaei-Nik said any new attack would receive a firm response and that Iran’s adversaries would suffer greater losses as a result. The Iranian semi-official Fars News Agency reported the remarks.
Asked what Iran would do in response to a possible attack on Kuh-e Kolang, also known as “Pickaxe Mountain,” Talaei-Nik said that if further aggression occurs, the Iranian armed forces have already identified and prepared the targets they could strike in retaliation.
He said advanced missile and drone technologies, modern air-defense systems, as well as various naval, ground and air warfare systems, have been supplied to the armed forces.
According to Talaei-Nik, Iran’s current capacity to produce weapons, defense equipment and ammunition is now 2.5 times higher than it was before the war began. He said the capacity had been expanded following the war that began on February 28.
He added that production of some types of weapons has increased by more than threefold.
Talaei-Nik also claimed that the Iranian Defense Ministry and its network of partner organizations are now capable of producing more than 1,000 different types of weapons, military systems, equipment and ammunition components.
Meanwhile, Talaei-Nik said Iran’s defense cooperation with Russia and China has neither been suspended nor reduced.
He said strategic cooperation with Moscow and Beijing remains active under existing agreements, while communication with both countries continues on political and defense matters.
He also said defense diplomacy and consultations with Russia and China have been intensified in some areas, although he did not provide further details.
Earlier, reports in Israeli media said Israel was preparing for a possible new military operation against Iran, either in coordination with the United States or independently.
The Israeli newspaper Israel Hayom reported that the Israeli military was preparing for a possible strike on Iran. At the same time, it said Israel was maintaining close intelligence and military cooperation with the US military.
According to the report, Israel is preparing both to respond to a possible Iranian attack and to potentially launch a preemptive strike.
Tensions between Iran and the United States and Israel have continued since the war began on February 28. During the conflict, attacks targeted Iranian military and nuclear facilities as well as senior military officials. In response, Iran launched missile and drone strikes targeting Israel and US military installations across the Middle East.
