Trump Says Israel Will No Longer Attack Qatar

American President Donald Trump has declared that Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu will no longer order attacks on Qatar. Speaking at the White House, Trump described Qatar as “a very good friend” of the United States and stated: “He (Netanyahu) will never again give orders to attack Qatar.”

This statement comes in the wake of a recent strike by Israel on an apartment building in Doha, targeting senior Hamas leaders who are based in Qatar. Although the operation resulted in six deaths, top Hamas executive Khalil al-Haya and other high-ranking members survived.

According to Trump, future responses will avoid direct military attacks on Qatari soil, though actions against Hamas leaders might take other forms. He also addressed reports that Netanyahu had informed him in advance of the Doha attack; Trump denied these reports, saying he learned about the strike the same way the rest of the world did.

Regional voices responded strongly: following the Doha attack, about 60 countries met in an emergency Arab-Islamic summit in Doha, strongly condemning Israel’s actions and calling for united regional resistance.
