Darwin, 02 March:
Three United States service members have been killed amid the ongoing conflict with Iran. Israel and the United States carried out coordinated strikes across Iran early Saturday morning.
On Sunday, the Pentagon confirmed the deaths, stating that three troops were killed and five others wounded during operations against Iran. However, officials did not disclose where or how the service members were killed.
This marks the first time Washington has announced fatalities among its forces following the large-scale strikes in Iran.
Several other troops sustained minor injuries and are expected to return to duty soon, according to the US military.
Authorities said the identities of the fallen soldiers will not be released within the next 24 hours due to the evolving situation.
Following the death of Ali Khamenei, Iran has launched extensive attacks on US bases across the Middle East, including in Israel. In one missile strike on a bomb shelter in Israel, nine people were killed and dozens injured.
