Sam Kerr Opens Up on Motherhood and Son Jagger’s Stubborn Streak
In an exclusive interview, Sam Kerr opens up about her son Jagger, watching wife Kristie Mewis become a mother, and their new Bonds campaign.
Pop superstar Sia’s ongoing divorce proceedings have taken a sensational turn, with her estranged husband, former doctor Daniel Bernard, requesting more than 250,000(£187,000;A384,000) per month in temporary spousal support.
The demand, revealed in new US court documents, is to allow Bernard to maintain the “luxurious and upper-class lifestyle” he became accustomed to during his marriage to the “Chandelier” and “Titanium” singer.
Sia, whose full name is Sia Furler, filed for divorce in March, citing “irreconcilable differences” from Bernard after the couple married in December 2022 and welcomed an 18-month-old son.
In his court filings, Bernard claimed he is “financially dependent on Sia” after he quit his job as a radiation oncologist to run a medical business alongside the pop star, an enterprise which was reportedly short-lived.
The filings detail a highly expensive marital lifestyle, with the couple allegedly incurring over $400,000 in monthly expenses for private jets, luxury holidays, high-end dining, and the cost of several full-time staff members. “We never needed to monitor our living expenses,” Bernard stated.
The 47-year-old Bernard argued that the temporary support is “necessary” because the 49-year-old Sia was consistently “the breadwinner in our marriage.”
Furthermore, he claims he cannot immediately resume his medical career. As a former radiation oncologist, he would need to complete several years of training and successfully pass a series of rigorous exams to renew his certification and practice medicine again.
Bernard’s legal requests also include additional payments to cover his burgeoning legal costs and the hiring of forensic accounting services.
Sia’s agents have been contacted for a comment on the substantial support request.
