Darwin, 24 February:
Putting an end to long-standing speculation, popular South Indian stars Rashmika Mandanna and Vijay Deverakonda have officially confirmed their wedding.
On Sunday night, the couple shared a joint statement on social media announcing that they are stepping into a new chapter of their lives. After years of anticipation, their confirmation has given fans the official news they had been waiting for.
The celebrity pair has chosen the fan-given nickname “Virash” — a blend of their names — as the official identity of their wedding celebrations.
In their post, they wrote:
“You were with us even before we planned anything. With so much love, you gave us a name — Virash.”
According to close sources, the main wedding ceremony will take place on February 26 at a palace in Rajasthan. The wedding festivities will begin on February 24. Separate ceremonies have been arranged in accordance with the traditions of both families — one hosted by Rashmika’s family and the other by Vijay’s.
A major highlight of the event is strict confidentiality. An international security agency has reportedly been hired to ensure maximum protection at the venue. The guest list has been kept limited, and mobile phones will be completely prohibited during the ceremony.
Even official photographers and videographers have been required to sign non-disclosure agreements (NDAs). In short, the much-talked-about event will follow a strict “No Phone, No Leak” policy.
The wedding itself will be an intimate affair. However, a grand reception for close friends and members of the film industry is reportedly being planned in Hyderabad on March 4, though no official confirmation has been made yet.
Rashmika Mandanna and Vijay Deverakonda first shared the screen in the 2018 hit film Geetha Govindam, which played a key role in cementing their on-screen chemistry and growing popularity as a pair.
