Darwin, 21 March: Thousands of worshippers across Bangladesh gathered to offer Eid prayers, with special sermons emphasizing global peace and unity among Muslim nations.
The main congregation was held at the National Eidgah in the capital, where political leaders, officials, and citizens from all walks of life joined in prayers marking the religious festival.
The Eid gathering reflected both spiritual devotion and concern over ongoing conflicts affecting the Muslim world.
During the khutbah (sermon), religious leaders urged Muslim countries to set aside divisions and unite in order to stop wars and oppression in different parts of the world.
They stressed that disunity among Muslim nations continues to prolong suffering, and called for collective efforts to establish peace and justice.
Special prayers (dua) were offered seeking an end to global conflicts, protection for oppressed Muslims, and stability across the Muslim Ummah.
Worshippers also prayed for the peace, progress, and prosperity of Bangladesh.
Eid prayers in Bangladesh traditionally include messages addressing contemporary social and global issues. Similar calls for unity and peace have been echoed in past gatherings, where leaders highlighted the importance of solidarity among Muslim nations in overcoming crises.
The atmosphere remained peaceful and festive, as people embraced each other after prayers, sharing the joy of Eid while reflecting on the broader message of unity and compassion.
