Darwin, 09 May : The UK government has imposed sanctions on a Bangladeshi travel company over allegations of human trafficking.
On May 5, the UK Foreign, Commonwealth & Development Office (FCDO) announced the sanctions. The announcement was published on the official website of the UK government.
The UK Foreign Office has taken action against the Bangladeshi travel company under the UK’s Global Irregular Migration and Human Trafficking Sanctions Regulations 2025. According to the UK government, the company is involved in human trafficking in Russia. The Bangladeshi victims were forced to fight on behalf of Russia in the war against Ukraine.
The UK government’s sanctions announcement lists 17 individuals and organizations from Bangladesh and several other countries. The Bangladeshi company appears at number 5 on the list.
According to the documents, the Bangladeshi company under sanctions is Dream Home Travels & Tours Limited. The company’s registered address is listed as a house in Banani, Dhaka. The sanctions include measures such as asset freezes.
The sanctions cite “reasonable grounds for suspicion” that Dream Home Travels & Tours Limited is a relevant entity under the UK’s 2025 Global Irregular Migration and Human Trafficking Sanctions Regulations, because the company has been involved in human trafficking-related activities.
To explain the reason for the sanctions, the UK government stated that Dream Home Travels & Tours Limited was specifically involved in recruiting Bangladeshi citizens through deceptive practices and subsequently exploiting them.
The company advertised high-paying jobs in the Russian service sector. However, upon arrival in Russia, the Bangladeshi citizens were forced to fight on the frontlines in Russia’s aggressive war against Ukraine.
