Police discovered the same substance in Cecil Patrick Kennedy’s home after an autopsy indicated that infant Jordan Thompson died with excessive quantities of antidepressant in his system.

When Bernice Swales, the mother of Jordan, left the house on March 19, 2005 to go to the store, Kennedy was caring for the 21-month-old and his own child.

After an hour, she went back and discovered Kennedy performing CPR on her child. Shortly later, Jordan was pronounced dead.

Kennedy, who is now 51 years old, has pleaded not guilty to the manslaughter of the youngster more than 18 years later.

On April 8, 2005, according to a video shown to the jury on Monday, police found a paper bag containing prescription antidepressants in the top corner of Kennedy’s wardrobe.

Half-consumed boxes of the antidepressants ENDEP 50 and Avanza, as well as the antibiotic Doryx, were also inside.

After an autopsy, which was unable to determine a cause of death, revealed Jordan had significant levels of antidepressant in his blood, NSW Police carried out the search.

The toddler’s father, Paul Thompson, testified before the Downing Centre District Court jury as well. He claimed that in the days prior to his passing, the youngster appeared a little lethargic and ill.

Jordan was in Thompson’s care on March 16 and 17.

His girlfriend and parents both paid the house a visit on those days, but the father never left Jordan by himself with them.

Thompson additionally denied administering any medicines to his son.

The trial goes on.
