RAGLAN— A terrifying incident unfolded this morning in central Queensland when a light plane crashed, leaving the pilot with severe, potentially life-threatening burns.
Emergency services were scrambled to Langmorn Road in Raglan at 9.54 am today following multiple reports of a downed aircraft.
A spokesperson for the Queensland Ambulance Service (QAS) confirmed that paramedics treated only one patient at the scene—a man in his 60s. Due to the extent of his injuries, he was assessed as being in a potentially life-threatening condition.
The man was the sole occupant of the light plane. A rescue helicopter was reportedly deployed to the scene to rapidly transport the injured man to a major trauma centre, where he will undergo urgent treatment for his burns.
Authorities have commenced an investigation into the circumstances that led to the crash.
