RIYADH — Cristiano Ronaldo delivered a moment of pure magic, scoring a spectacular overhead bicycle kick deep into stoppage time to seal a dominant 4-1 victory for Al Nassr over Al Khaleej on Sunday.
The 40-year-old Portuguese international, who has yet to win a major title since joining the Saudi Pro League nearly three years ago, demonstrated his enduring athleticism with the 96th-minute wonder strike.
Ronaldo celebrated the goal, his 10th of the season in the league, by posting the video on X with the caption: “Best caption wins!”
The emphatic victory at home in Riyadh was critical for Al Nassr, who now sit four points clear at the top of the Saudi Pro League table after nine matches (they have 27 points from 9 wins). The result underlines their perfect start to the season and title credentials.
Ronaldo was not the only former Premier League star to find the net. Fellow Portuguese international João Félix opened the scoring for Al Nassr in the 39th minute and Sadio Mané restored the two-goal cushion in the 78th minute, with Wesley adding a goal just before half-time. Al Khaleej’s solitary goal came early in the second half.
The victory maintains Al Nassr’s perfect record, emphasizing the collective goal of securing the Saudi Pro League title, a prize that has thus far eluded the former Real Madrid and Manchester United star since his high-profile move.
