SYDNEY : NSW Police have allegedly intercepted an imminent public place shooting following a high-speed pursuit of a luxury vehicle that came to a crashing halt in a Western Sydney golf course.
Officers were patrolling South Granville at approximately 9:30 PM last night when they attempted to pull over a Porsche being driven suspiciously. The driver allegedly accelerated, leading police on a pursuit through to Rawson Road in Guildford. The chase ended when the vehicle smashed through a fence and onto the greens of a local golf course.
The Arrest and Discovery
A 17-year-old male was apprehended at the scene and taken to Granville Police Station after being treated for minor injuries. A subsequent search of the Porsche allegedly uncovered a pistol.
“We believe we’ve stopped a public place shooting,” NSW Police Superintendent Grant Healey said. “The indication from the car and the firearm located suggests they were going to shoot at a premise.”
Police are currently hunting for remaining members of the criminal group.
