Elderly Woman Dies in Melbourne Carpark Struck by Car

Darwin, 19 January: An elderly woman has died after being struck by a car in a carpark in Melbourne’s southeast.

The 88-year-old woman was hit at around 11:30am on Saturday in a carpark near a strip of shops on Paternoster Lane in Berwick. She sustained life-threatening injuries and was taken to hospital, where she later died.

The male driver of the vehicle stopped at the scene and was interviewed by police.
Victoria Police said detectives from the Major Collision Investigation Unit are investigating the circumstances surrounding the incident.

Police have urged anyone who witnessed the collision or has dashcam or CCTV footage to contact Crime Stoppers.
