The 52-year-old legendary left-back posted a photo from his hospital bed, showing a positive demeanor, to clarify that his recent medical treatment was a “preventative medical procedure” that had been planned in advance.
Following a wave of speculation on social media suggesting a cardiac event, Carlos issued a statement via Instagram to provide clarity.
“I would like to clarify recent information that has been circling,” Carlos wrote. “I recently underwent a preventative medical procedure, planned in advance with my medical team. The procedure was successful, and I am well. I did not suffer a heart attack.”
The former World Cup winner expressed his gratitude to the medical staff and indicated that he expects to return to his usual schedule shortly. “I am recovering well and looking forward to returning to full fitness and resuming my professional and personal commitments soon.”
