BOBS FARM : A local community is in mourning after a four-year-old boy tragically died following a drowning incident at a property on the NSW Mid North Coast on Friday night.
Emergency services were called to a residence in Bobs Farm at approximately 7:30 PM after reports that a child had been found unresponsive in a swimming pool.
Upon being pulled from the water, family members immediately began performing CPR in a desperate attempt to revive the boy. NSW Ambulance paramedics arrived shortly after and took over life-saving measures before transporting the child to John Hunter Hospital.
Despite the best efforts of medical staff, the boy remained in a critical condition and passed away later that night.
Port Stephens-Hunter Police District officers have commenced an investigation into the circumstances surrounding the incident. At this stage, the death is not being treated as suspicious.
A report is currently being prepared for the information of the Coroner. No further details regarding the family’s identity have been released at this time.
