Melbourne, 25 July— Popular Bangladeshi actors Khairul Basar and Tanjin Tisha are set to appear in a Kolkata-based film. Adding to the excitement, they will be sharing the screen with 3 Idiots star Sharman Joshi. The film, titled Bhalobashar Morshum (Season of Love), is being directed by M.N. Raj.
According to sources, Tanjin Tisha will portray a character named Hia, opposite Sharman Joshi’s character Abir. The two will appear as a married couple on screen. In the midst of the emotional complexities between Hia and Abir, Khairul Basar’s character will enter the story.
When contacted for comments, Tanjin Tisha ended the call citing a busy schedule. Khairul Basar could not be reached, but he told Indian media, “I really liked the script. I believe this film has great potential as my debut in Tollywood. Also, getting the chance to share the screen with Sharman Joshi feels like a blessing.”
This film marks Sharman Joshi’s first appearance in a Bengali-language movie. For the role, he is currently learning the Bengali language. The actor said, “Although I haven’t worked in Bengali films before, I did act in the Hindi remake of ‘Bhooter Bhabishyat’ titled ‘Gang of Ghosts.’ I regularly watch Bengali cinema and am a huge fan of Satyajit Ray. There’s a lot of great work happening in regional cinema now. I’m happy to have the opportunity to act in a Bengali film.”
Apart from Basar and Tisha, actress Sushmita Chattopadhyay is also part of the cast. Excited about the new project, she said, “It’s a strong character, and working with Sharman Joshi is definitely a big opportunity.”
The film will be shot across locations in Darjeeling and Murshidabad.
