The final artistic vision of legendary Bangladeshi actress and former Member of Parliament Kabori Sarwar will soon reach audiences, thanks to the dedication of her son, Shaker Chishty.
Chishty confirmed that he successfully completed his mother’s unfinished directorial project, “Ei Tumi Shei Tumi,” two years after her death in 2021. Kabori passed away with only two days of filming remaining.
Speaking about the process, Chishty told Samakal, “Finishing my mother’s incomplete work was a huge challenge for me. I’ve now completed it and also handled the dubbing and editing.”
The film, written by Kabori herself, is a compelling narrative that spans two distinct timelines: one set in the present day and the other during the Liberation War. It stars Nishat Nawar Salwa and Raihan Riyad in the lead roles.
Chishty stated the film has been submitted to several international film festivals and will receive its official premiere abroad before securing a final release date in Bangladesh.
Beyond directing, Kabori also penned a song for the film, performed by Imran and Konal, with music direction provided by the legendary Sabina Yasmin.
