Darwin, 20 December: After setting fire to the buildings of two leading media and cultural organizations over the death of an activist, extremists have now set fire to the office of the Udichi Artists Group in the capital of Bangladesh, Dhaka.

The fire broke out at Udichi’s office opposite the National Press Club on Topkhana Road in the capital at 5:45 pm on Friday (December 19).

Upon receiving the information, four units of the fire service quickly reached the scene and brought the fire under control.

Fire Service Control Room Officer Rozina Islam said, “Upon receiving the news of the fire, four units of the fire service went to the spot and started working. The fire was brought under control within a short time.”He said, “Initially, there were no reports of any casualties.”

Amit Ranjan Dey, general secretary of a section of the Udichi artist group, said, “Those who want to destabilize the country, those who want to push the country backward, are the ones who have set the fire.”

A day earlier, extremists set fire to the buildings of the Daily Prothom Alo and the English daily Daily Star on Thursday night, following the death of Sharif Osman Hadi, a fighter of the July Uprising and convener of the Inqilab Mancha.

On the same day, extremists set fire to the body of a Hindu youth named Dipu Chandra Das in Mymensingh district after he was beaten to death on charges of blasphemy.

Fire terrorism is taking place across the country, including Dhaka, at the instigation of activist Pinaki Bhattacharya, who is in asylum in Paris, and YouTuber Ilyas Hossain, who is in asylum in America.

In this situation, conscious citizens have demanded the expulsion of these two individuals from those countries.

Since before August 5 last year, these two individuals have been trying to make Bangladesh a haven for extremists from abroad.

Many journalists were trapped there when the media outlets were set on fire. They were later rescued by helicopter.
