Viewers Demand Refunds After Watching ‘Avatar Three’!

Darwin, 20 December: James Cameron’s much-hyped franchise Avatar released its third installment, “Avatar: Fire and Ash,” worldwide on Friday. Despite huge expectations, the film has left many viewers disappointed.

While the visual effects have received praise, audiences have expressed frustration over the film’s long runtime, weak dialogue, and messy plot. On social media, many viewers have called it a “waste of time,” with some even demanding refunds for their tickets.

According to a BBC report, the film runs for 3 hours and 17 minutes (197 minutes)—longer than the previous two films in the series. Critics argue that apart from “screensaver-like graphics,” the lengthy runtime offers little that feels new. Viewers complain that although the film is visually dazzling, it lacks the core soul of cinema—story depth. Repetitive scenes stretched over a long period have irritated audiences, with many reportedly leaving theaters halfway through.

The film has also been criticized for its weak story and characters. Reports say that James Cameron shifted focus away from the main characters, Jake Sully and Neytiri, and instead centered the narrative on their children. However, these new characters failed to connect with viewers, who found their behavior and dialogue “annoying.”

Critics note that the gripping tension present in the first film is largely missing in the third installment. In many instances, the movie feels more like a big-budget soap opera.

The original Avatar (2009) and its sequel went on to break global box office records. However, the negative reception of the third installment has raised concerns among fans. How this backlash will affect its international box office performance remains to be seen.
