Massive Turnout at Funeral of Young Bangladeshi Politician Osman Hadi

Darwin, 21 December: The funeral prayers of prominent Bangladeshi political activist and July Movement youth leader Sharif Osman Hadi were held today at the South Plaza of the National Parliament Building on Manik Mia Avenue in Dhaka.

A large number of mourners from all walks of life gathered at the venue, creating an atmosphere of deep sorrow and grief. Family members, political colleagues, well-wishers, students, and ordinary citizens attended the janaza to pay their final respects.

Chief Adviser Muhammad Yunus was also present at the funeral, highlighting the national significance of Hadi’s political role and influence.

Thousands of people thronged the area to catch a final glimpse of the young leader and bid him farewell. Following the prayers, special supplications were offered seeking forgiveness and eternal peace for the departed soul.

Speaking at the funeral, Hadi’s colleagues described him as an uncompromising, outspoken, and principled leader. They said his contributions to Bangladesh’s democratic movement and political awareness would be remembered for years to come.

Speakers also noted that his ideals and sacrifices would continue to inspire the younger generation.

Law enforcement agencies implemented extensive security measures to ensure the smooth and peaceful conduct of the funeral, which concluded without incident.

Hadi’s death has cast a pall of grief over the country’s political landscape. Condolences and tributes have been pouring in from various quarters, including on social media.

Following the janaza, Osman bin Hadi was laid to rest near the mausoleum of National Poet Kazi Nazrul Islam in the Dhaka University area.
