Actress Sues After Director Asked About Her Weight

Darwin, 25 January: Hollywood actress Blake Lively, who was recently named among TIME magazine’s 100 Most Influential People of 2025, has once again made headlines as details from an ongoing legal dispute resurface.

Beyond her professional achievements, Lively has often drawn media attention for issues off-screen. One such controversy involves a lawsuit she filed in December 2024 against It Ends With Us director and co-star Justin Baldoni, accusing him of sexual harassment and a retaliatory smear campaign.

The legal battle has now taken a new turn following the emergence of previously undisclosed messages, which have intensified public scrutiny of the case. These messages have been submitted as part of the lawsuit and have raised fresh questions about professional boundaries during film production.

According to court documents, text messages from 2023 suggest that Baldoni contacted Lively’s personal trainer to inquire about her weight ahead of filming an intimate scene. Baldoni has stated that the inquiry was made solely due to his own physical limitations, claiming he needed to ensure he could safely lift Lively during the shoot.

However, Lively later described the incident as deeply disturbing. She said the interaction had a significant emotional impact on her, particularly as it occurred shortly after she had given birth.

Baldoni, for his part, has denied any intention to insult or demean his co-star, maintaining that his actions were misunderstood.
