Darwin, 12 August—Bangladesh’s Chief Adviser, Professor Dr. Muhammad Yunus, has arrived in Malaysia on a three-day official visit. He landed in Kuala Lumpur at 7:50 pm local time on Monday (11 August).
Earlier, at 2:00 pm Bangladesh time, Professor Yunus departed from Hazrat Shahjalal International Airport for Malaysia on a Biman Bangladesh Airlines flight.
On Tuesday, the Chief Adviser will hold a bilateral meeting with Malaysian Prime Minister Anwar Ibrahim in Putrajaya.
Discussions are expected to focus on Rohingya repatriation, expansion of the labor market, proper utilization of deep-sea resources, agriculture, and strengthening bilateral trade. Dhaka is likely to call on Malaysia and ASEAN member states to take a more active role in facilitating the repatriation of the Rohingya.
Accompanying the Chief Adviser on the visit are Foreign Affairs Adviser Md. Touhid Hossain, Energy Adviser Muhammad Faozul Kabir Khan, and Legal Affairs Adviser Asif Nazrul, along with senior government officials.
