Triptii replaces Deepika opposite Prabhas

Darwin, 24 November: After long speculation and much drama, the suspense is finally over. It has now been revealed who will star opposite ‘Baahubali’ fame actor Prabhas as his new heroine.

Although Bollywood queen Deepika Padukone’s name was strongly rumored at first, ‘Animal’ actress Triptii Dimri ultimately clinched the role at the last moment. Replacing Deepika, Triptii has been finalized as Prabhas’s co-star in director Sandeep Reddy Vanga’s highly anticipated film Spirit.

The shooting of Spirit officially began on Sunday with a grand muhurat ceremony, where Triptii’s name was publicly announced as the female lead.

According to a report in the Indian media, Deepika Padukone had placed several conditions for acting in the film — most notably, she demanded an eight-hour working day. However, the film’s large-scale vision and the director’s requirements did not align with her conditions, prompting the production house to drop her from the project.

Seizing the opportunity, Triptii Dimri stepped in as Prabhas’s heroine. Following the blockbuster success of Animal, this is her second collaboration with Sandeep Reddy Vanga. She appeared cheerful and elegant in traditional attire at the muhurat event.

Meanwhile, Telugu megastar Chiranjeevi attended the ceremony in Hyderabad as the chief guest. He gave the inaugural clap to mark the beginning of the shoot and offered his blessings to the entire team.

Renowned Bollywood and South Indian film trade analyst Taran Adarsh also confirmed the development by sharing photos from the muhurat on social media.

In Spirit, Prabhas will be seen portraying an angry and uncompromising police officer. The film is being crafted in Sandeep Reddy Vanga’s signature dark and intense style.

Along with Prabhas and Triptii, the film also stars Vivek Oberoi, Prakash Raj, and veteran actress Kanchana in key roles. Produced under the T-Series banner by Bhushan Kumar, the makers are optimistic that this film will set new records at the box office.
