The Bangladesh Nationalist Party (BNP)-led alliance is on track to form the next government after securing a decisive majority in the national parliamentary elections, according to the latest unofficial results.
Unofficial results for 245 parliamentary seats have been received so far. Of these:
The BNP alliance has won 182 seats
The Jamaat-e-Islami alliance has secured 59 seats
Independent candidates have won 4 seats
BNP candidates are also reported to be leading in several of the remaining constituencies, further strengthening the party’s position to form a single-party majority government.
Among the prominent figures declared winners in the unofficial results are:
Tarique Rahman, elected from Dhaka-17 and Bogra-6
Mirza Fakhrul Islam Alamgir, elected from Thakurgaon-1
The BNP recorded significant victories across multiple districts, including:
Thakurgaon, Dinajpur, Lalmonirhat, Bogra, Naogaon, Natore, Sirajganj
Kushtia, Jhenaidah, Jessore, Magura, Narail, Bagerhat
Dhaka metropolitan constituencies
Narsingdi, Shariatpur, Sunamganj, Habiganj
Comilla, Chandpur, Feni, Noakhali
Chittagong and Cox’s Bazar
Meanwhile, Jamaat-e-Islami candidates secured seats in several constituencies including Meherpur, Kushtia, Jhenaidah, Jessore, and Comilla. A small number of independent candidates also emerged victorious.
With 182 seats already confirmed for the BNP alliance and additional leads reported, the party appears poised to form the next government with a clear majority in Parliament.
Election authorities are expected to release the official results following the completion of vote tabulation and verification procedures.
