The Australian High Commission in Dhaka has congratulated BNP Acting Chairman Tarique Rahman and the Bangladesh Nationalist Party (BNP) on their victory in the 13th National Parliamentary Election, describing the result as an important moment in Bangladesh’s democratic transition.
In a congratulatory message issued on Saturday morning, the High Commission stated, “Congratulations to Tarique Rahman and the Bangladesh Nationalist Party on winning the 13th National Parliamentary Election, and to the people of Bangladesh at this important moment in the country’s democratic transition.”
In the message, Australia reaffirmed its commitment to further strengthening its long-standing partnership with Bangladesh.
Earlier, following the parliamentary election held on Thursday in which the BNP secured victory, leaders from Pakistan, Nepal, the United Kingdom, China, India, and the United\ States congratulated Tarique Rahman and praised the peaceful conduct of the election.
