Sufi Leaders Call for Unity at Pir-Mashaikh Conference in Dhaka

Dhaka, September 6: One of the largest Pir-Mashaikh conferences was held in the capital Dhaka, bringing together around 3,000 delegates from home and abroad, including representatives from Pakistan, India, Iran and Iraq. The conference was organized on the occasion of the holy Eid-e-Milad-un-Nabi (PBUH) and attended by Pirs and Mashaikh from various renowned Dargahs, Khanqahs and Sufi orders.

The conference, held on Saturday (September 5) at the Dhaka Officers Club auditorium, called for strengthening unity among followers of Sufi orders, spreading the teachings and love of Prophet Muhammad (PBUH), and taking a united stand against hatred and misinformation regarding Sufism and Eid-e-Milad-un-Nabi (PBUH).

Emphasizing the importance of solidarity among Sufi followers, Professor Dr. Qudrat-E-Khoda said, “If one Dargah faces a problem, followers of other Dargahs must also stand by them. It is because the Pirs and Mashaikh are present that love for the Prophet (PBUH) remains alive in the land of Bengal.”

Criticizing opposition and misinformation surrounding Eid-e-Milad-un-Nabi (PBUH), Qudrat-E-Khoda said, “Those who love Prophet Muhammad (PBUH) do not need any evidence to prove their love for the Messenger of Allah.”

The event was organized by Imam Professor Dr. Qudrat-E-Khoda, Director and Coordinator of Dewanbagh Sharif, on the occasion of Eid-e-Milad-un-Nabi (PBUH). Addressing the gathering, the Pirs and Mashaikh said that in the present circumstances, it is essential for Pirs, Mashaikh and followers of Sufism to overcome divisions and unite.

Hujjatul Islam wal-Muslimeen Shahabuddin Mashayekhi Raad, a representative of Iran’s Al-Mustafa International University, expressed solidarity with the initiative on behalf of Iranian Sufis. Criticizing misinformation regarding Eid-e-Milad-un-Nabi (PBUH), he said, “Many of those who oppose observing the birthday of the Holy Prophet (PBUH) celebrate the birthdays of their own children.”

Syed Salahuddin Chishti of Ajmer Sharif, Syed Anis Nizami and Syed Faiz Nizami of Hazrat Nizamuddin Auliya Dargah from India, and Diwan Ahmed Masood and Pir Syed Amir Hossain of Dargah Hazrat Shah Zafar Ali from Pakistan, among representatives from various countries, addressed the conference.

Pirs and Mashaikh from several renowned Dargahs across Bangladesh also delivered speeches at the event.
